The dahlia kingdom!

Enghien park is characterised by its themed gardens and water features. With its flower garden, its Seven Stars Baroque gardens, a curiosity of the estate and its dahlia garden, Enghien park takes the visitor back into 400 years of history.

Everyone is welcome!

Family visits: the entire park provides easy access for push-chairs and young children.

Garden lovers: the origins of Enghien park date back to the 15th century, when Pierre de Luxembourg, the lord of the manor, landscaped the woods bordering his castle and transformed them into a park. Two centuries later, in 1607, the estate was sold by Henry IV, King of France, to the D'Arenberg family, members of the nobility.

This was the start of a fairytale story for this estate which was to undergo several transformations that would see it ranked among the most beautiful parks in Europe. The town of Enghien has left no stone unturned to restore the former beauty and renown of this park. This park is a "must" for tourists!

First visit to an "outstanding" garden: take a guided tour...no stone has been left unturned to provide a straightforward and well explained tour of the gardens. An audio guide system based on three themed walks conducts visitors through the gardens, enabling them to explore the splendours of the estate. From the Italian Renaissance style Flower Garden, through the Rose Garden and the Aquatic Plant Garden, to the Dahlia Garden, now the European Dahlia Reference Collection, visitors stroll through the very heart of an utterly magical park.
