| Walk | Narrow passage between two walls leading to a house. Path between rows of trees. The following types of allée, or walk, are distinguished: allée simple, bordered by one row of trees on either side ; allée double (or dréve, Belgian French for a tree-lined avenue), bordered by two rows of trees on either side; allée de front, extending straight forward from the front elevation of a building; allée de traverse, extending at right angles from the allée de front; allée de côté, side walk parallel to the allée de front. A path is a small walkway in a parterre. |
